The book provides an innovative look at prostate cancer with specific focus on metastasis (secondary malignant growths from a primary site of cancer). Dr. Ablin is a well-known innovator in the field of prostate cancer research and is the discoverer of prostate-specific antigen (PSA). |

The award recognizes productions that achieve an "excellent" rating by a peer-review panel using an objective scoring system. |
Two UA scientists are among 471 members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
to be awarded the distinction of AAAS Fellow this year. They are:
 Carol A. Barnes, PhD | Carol A. Barnes, PhD, Regents' Professor, psychology and neurology, and director, Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute, for outstanding contributions to our understanding of neural mechanisms of learning and memory in the aging brain; |
 Nancy A. Moran, PhD | Nancy A. Moran, PhD, Regents' Professor, ecology and evolutionary biology, for distinguished contributions to molecular evolution, particularly for showing that ancient symbioses with bacteria have shaped the diversification and ecology of insects. Presentation of official certificates and rosette pins will be at the 2008 AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston in February. |
