Anne Woodtli, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., associate dean for Clinical and Community Services at the UA College of Nursing, was one of two new members elected to the six-member Taxonomy Committee of the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) for the 1998-2000 biennium.

Arthur B. Sanders, M.D., professor in the Section of Emergency Medicine at the UA College of Medicine, was awarded the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Leadership Award. The prestigious award is given to one person each year who contributes significantly to the specialty.

Vicki Gaubeca was recently promoted to editor at the AHSC Office of Public Affairs and is now the editor for the Arizona Health Sciences News. She has extensive experience as an editor, previously serving as publications coordinator at Carondelet Health Network, where she coordinated the production of several publications, including newsletters for staff, physicians and volunteers. Prior to that she worked at Artisoft, Inc., where she wrote copy for several publications, edited a quarterly staff newsletter and wrote and edited stories for monthly and bimonthly reseller newsletters. Before that, she was a technical editor at AlliedSignal Controls & Accessories in Tucson.
