How To Be Seen by All the Right People: Get on the AHSC Event Calendar

When you want people to know about an event in your department or center, be sure it is included in the AHSC Event Calendar, http://events.ahsc.arizona.edu. The new online resource can display every event scheduled at AHSC. Your listing will be available at the click of a mouse, and it can be tailored for specific audiences.

Steven Wormsley, PhD, chief information officer of the College of Medicine and developer of the calendar, is offering training sessions on the use of the event calendar. To schedule a session for your department or center:

1) Be sure your unit designates a contact person, with phone number and e-mail address. In addition, each unit should identify a data entry person to be contacted by the calendar editor if there are questions about a submission. One person may be responsible for both of these functions.

2) Visit http://events.ahsc.arizona.edu/index.html and see if your unit is listed. If so, you're ready for a training session; just contact Dr. Wormsley at wormsley@email.arizona.edu and tell him you're ready to go. If not, please notify Dr. Wormsley so he can make necessary adjustments for you to attend training.

Training will take approximately two hours. The class will describe the strategy for entering events into the calendar. Have some events ready to help get your editors started.
