The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) and the
Steele Children’s Research Center
at The University of Arizona College of Medicine will host their first live Web
cast for individuals with cystic fibrosis, as well as their parents, family
members and caregivers.
This presentation is part of an ongoing program
sponsored by the CFF and funded by Genentech called Virtual Patient Education
Days. These Web casts bring pertinent information directly to the patient in a
typical forum setting -- but because they are virtual they can be held without
the risk of infection, a major concern with CF patients. Total Lung Care: Feel the
Difference TLC Makes, the topic of this latest Virtual Patient
Education Day, will feature cystic fibrosis experts advising how to maintain
optimal well-being while living with CF. In addition, the Internet
audience will be able to ask questions. About 1,000 CF patients and their
caregivers from around the world are expected to participate via the
Internet.
